This fully catered weekend is tailored specifically for the Bear Community, nestled in the picturesque village of Westhem, located between Blauwhuis and IJlst along a historic winding dike. With a quaint population of just around 70 residents and only two streets, this charming terp village is home to our luxurious group accommodation, affectionately known as the Bear Hûs.
The Bear Hûs provides an idyllic backdrop for Bear Kamp, situated by the tranquil waters of the Reidmar, one of Friesland’s smallest lakes. This venue not only offers ample space but also guarantees complete privacy for our guests. Enjoy a variety of amenities, including a wellness area with a panoramic sauna, steam bath, infrared sauna, and a luxurious shower room. You’ll have direct access to the swimming lake for a refreshing dip and a delightful barefoot path to explore. Take a leisurely ride in one of our four whisper boats across the lake, soak up the sun on the grassy banks, or dive off the jetty for a cool swim. After a nature walk or a visit to nearby villages, unwind on one of the terraces, engage in outdoor games, try your hand at fishing, or get active with some sports. For those seeking relaxation, warm up in the hot tub or take a cozy nap in the Bell tent.

The only tent you'll have to pitch is in your pants..
Experience the comfort of rooms instead of tents. Is it camping or is it glamping? You’ll enjoy a cozy night in one of our rooms designed for 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6 guests, featuring plush beds that are perfect for couples or groups of friends. For those seeking a more traditional summer camp vibe, we also offer a dormitory option for those extra fun nights. Each room is equipped with single beds that can be easily combined for couples and throuples, along with towels, Rituals products, and private bathrooms for your convenience. The only tent you’ll have to pitch is in your pants. This weekend might turn out to be a bit more mischievous than we anticipated…
Hungry, thirsty bears? We have the perfect solution!
When it comes to food and drinks, we’ve got you covered. Breakfast and lunch are served daily by the camp staff, while a caterer provides a delicious buffet dinner on Friday night. And for those with hearty appetites, don’t miss the Bearbecue on Saturday! All included in your package.
The bar, managed by the enthusiastic volunteers of DUTCH BEARS, offers a variety of affordable drinks for everyone to enjoy. It’s great to hear that our drink prices won’t put a dent in your wallet! Enjoy complimentary coffee and tea all day long, and all other beverages are just €2.50 each. This includes sodas, juices, beer, wine, and even liquor. You can conveniently pay with drink tokens, which you can order along with your tickets or online during your visit. Feeling thirsty yet?
What activities are scheduled for the weekend?
The weekend program is still being finalized, but it promises a little something for everyone, featuring a mix of sporty, creative, and relaxing activities. Kick off your Friday with a warm welcome and a delightful Frisian treat, followed by a fantastic evening buffet filled with summer-inspired dishes. This sets the stage for an outdoor cinema experience complete with fresh popcorn and s’mores by the campfire. Inside, you can groove to summer hits from the 80s, 90s, and 00s or indulge in some retro video games on a giant screen. If you’re in the mood for relaxation, the wellness area offers a late-night sauna or a refreshing dip in the lake.
Saturday will be especially exciting with the Bear Boppe party, featuring a mouthwatering catered Bearbecue buffet. Dance the night away to the best Pop, House, and Disco tracks spun by our DJ, or unwind in the outdoor hot tub or the cozy Bell tent by the campfire. Throughout the day, you can partake in various activities, including a scenic walk through Westhem, unleash your creativity with clay, float on the lake with our fun inflatables, or take a boat out for a leisurely sail.
On Sunday, we’ll treat you to a delightful breakfast to help you recover from a fun-filled night. For lunch, enjoy a classic Dutch favorite—pancakes! While you savor your meal, you’ll also have the chance to win some fantastic prizes with our Music Bingo game. You’ll leave feeling satisfied and perhaps even with a little something extra in your pocket! To wrap up our amazing weekend together, we’ll celebrate with some lively Bearaoke, giving everyone a chance to say farewell to both old and new friends. Plus, you’ll be the first in line to secure tickets for the next Bear Kamp edition, ensuring you don’t miss out on the fun!

The Bear Hûs is easily accessible by car, with free parking available, including charging stations for electric vehicles. Additionally, we offer a shuttle service for guests arriving by public transport from Sneek station to the group accommodation. So it’s a breeze to reach! When purchasing your tickets, you can conveniently add a shuttle service ticket as well. So, what’s stopping you?

The Bear Hûs is truly an incredible group accommodation, offering a wide range of facilities for both indoor and outdoor enjoyment, regardless of whether the sun is shining or the rain is falling. And we're proud to tell the accomodation is accessible for all.
First Aid
At our camp, we take the safety and well-being of our campers very seriously. That's why we have assembled a dedicated team of staff members who are not only passionate about providing a fun and enriching experience but are also fully trained in first aid. This ensures that in the event of any minor injuries or medical situations, our staff is equipped to respond quickly and effectively.
Many Sports
In our outdoor space, you'll find a variety of sports to enjoy. Among them is the traditional Frisian sport of Fierljeppen, along with the fun activities of Farmersgolf and Kubb, which are definitely worth experiencing. If you're looking for something more familiar, you can also engage in popular sports like soccer, tennis, badminton, beach volleyball, swimming, and even fishing. There's something for everyone!

The Bear Hûs is nestled in a village that provides a variety of opportunities for relaxing walks, exploring the charming village, or venturing into the meadows and nature reserves. These are just a few of the delightful choices available!
Transportation
We offer a convenient shuttle service connecting the Sneek train station to our group accommodation. If you don’t have your own vehicle, you can easily use public transport to join us at Bear Kamp. And for those arriving by car, rest assured that we have plenty of parking available, including spaces for electric vehicles.
